Runaway Again nips Mansetti at the wire to win Prince of Wales Stakes

Runaway Again overtook Mansetti just before the wire to win the $400,000 Prince of Wales Stakes on Tuesday. Mansetti, the 4/5 favourite with apprentice jockey Pietro Moran aboard, appeared poised to earn the victory but jockey Ryan Munger got Runaway Again to surge ahead just before the wire to win the 1 3/16-mile dirt race at Fort Erie Racetrack in 1:55.3.


Attard: Final decision on Mansetti running in Prince of Wales to be made next week

Trainer Kevin Attard said Friday that Mansetti continues to train and eat well following his solid 2 1/2-length win in the $1-million King's Plate on Aug. 16 at Woodbine Racetrack. Attard added Mansetti will train on dirt again Tuesday _ he breezed on that surface last week _ and then a firm decision will be made Wednesday on whether to have Moran and Mansetti compete in the $400,000 Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie Racetrack on Sept. 9.
