Montreal Canadiens forward Jake Evans left Saturday’s contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins with a lower-body injury and will not return, the team announced.
Evans went to the Canadiens’ locker room after a knee-on-knee collision with Penguins’ forward Justin Brazeau in the first period.
Following the game, head coach Martin St. Louis said Evans will not travel with the team for Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh as the injury receives further evaluation.

Forward Jake Evans (lower body) will not return to play in tonight's game.
The 29-year-old played 1:57 across three shifts before leaving the game.
Evans had five goals and five assists in 33 games entering tonight’s contest.
The Toronto, Ont., native has spent his entire seven-year career with the Canadiens, scoring 45 goals and 138 points in 383 games.
The Canadiens recently added to their centre depth, acquiring veteran forward Phillip Danault from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick on Friday night.
